Alright guys, it's been about 3 months since the first newsletter, so here's an update to let you all know what's going on:
Village 37
I talked a lot about Village 37 before. It's still being worked on, and yes we have been making progress. Since the last newsletter, we have finished the scripts for three episodes of Village 37. All that's left now is the filming and production of it. WE NEED YOUR HELP! As I said before, we've been looking for voice actors to fill various roles in this series. If you are interested, please send me an E-Mail (Mission37@live.com). Now, I realize that waiting for actors to come to us is a bit rediculous, so I'm setting a deadline, TBD, whereby we will begin filming whether or not we have new voice actors. I'll make due and have a few people play multiple roles. Village 37 is coming!
GMod Trek
The last time I wrote about GMod Trek, it was more of an idea than anything else. It was written, and we had a map. That was about it. Well, we released Episode 1 in February, and it quickly became the most popular video that Mission 37 has released to date. The scripts for episodes 2 and 3 have been drafted and just need some polishing. After that, all we need to do is film and produce, and you guys should be watching episode 2 in the near future.
Messing With Stuff
Well, Series 1 of Messing With Stuff is complete. Over the last 5 months, I've released 6 episodes. Every one of these episodes was filmed on the same day, November 1, 2009. I'm getting everything in order to film Messing With Stuff Series 2 soon. I already have most of everything set up, and I'm hoping to film some time in the next few days. Every episode of Series 2 will also be filmed in the same day. As it stands now, there will also be 6 episodes in Series 2, and hopefully it won't take me 5 months to release them this time!
Spectre Ops
Spectre Ops is a new genre of machinima for Mission 37. Everything we've released so far was mainly intended for comedy. This series is my attempt at something a bit more serious. I know that so far, I've only released a 2 minute clip of something that really has no explanation, but I'm sure many of you can appreciate that I was trying to do in it. If enough people like this style, I'm going to turn this into a mini series, basically about a spy going on missions. A serious series, not a comedy series. A serious movie is much harder to accomplish, but if done correctly, it can be that much more rewarding. Please let me know what you think!
Other Projects
Mission 37, the movie... As I said before, a project long in the making. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening any time in the near future. The script is being worked on, and while I admit that it is a lot closer to completion than ever before, that isn't saying much. I gave a brief story analysis in the last newsletter. That storyline has not changed, and the script has gotten a bit more detailed, but I think the start of filming is still pretty far off. I'd give a potential release date as first quarter 2011, knowing me. Sorry to have to tell you a date that far off, but as you have read so far, there are many things that I have ready to film, that I haven't gotten around to yet. Hopefully everything previously mentioned will be released in the next month or so, and if I achieve that goal, I'll have another newsletter at that time. Thanks for reading!
