Newsletter #01

Hello to anyone that is reading this. Mission 37 recently created this blog in the hopes of getting information spread around faster than on our website. With any luck, people will find out about this soon! Anyway, a few notes about our current projects:

Village 37
As many of you reading this probably know, Village 37 was a Hot Fuzz take-off of which we only released a Prelude. The scope of the project has changed. We had originally intended for it to be a movie, but now it has been decided that we will work on making it a sort of mystery series. Currently, we have two episodes written and we will start working on it again when our current projects get some more work done. We do also need voice actors for Village 37, so if you're interested please do not hesitate to send us an E-Mail to try out (Mission37@live.com). Village 37 is not dead, but it will probably be a while before there is much more progress released.

GMod Trek
A new Mission 37 project, GMod Trek is a series being planned for release in late January or early February. The planned characters in the series are Captain Tru, First Lt. Gary, Engineer Kods and Doctor Doc. Although I do not want to give away much of the stories that we have written so far, I will say right now that the basic theme of this series is based on Star Trek, but this is not just a Star Trek movie in GMod. The theme music for this show has been posted on YouTube, and an official release date is pending, so check back!

Messing With Stuff
Episodes 1 and 2 of Messing With Stuff have already been released. The basic premise is Gary (and Doc starting in Episode 3) introducing all the Half-Life and Source props and messing around with them. This is never scripted, and was all filmed at once with one continuous shot. Everything you see is improv. Episode 1 was generally accepted well by my friends and any of you that sent me messages, but some of you were asking what the point was. The second episode was poor quality because of lag issues, but that problem has been fixed for all future episodes. As for the "point", there is none, but the episodes do become more entertaining as they go along. There are currently 6 full episodes filmed, waiting to be released. Episodes 1 and 2 dealt with the basic Half-Life 2 props. Episode 3 is going to include the props from Portal, and the rest will be announced when the release dates get closer. Episode 3 should be out by the end of today, January 25th!

Other Projects
Mission 37 has long been working on the movie Mission 37 from which the group got our name. The main story of Mission 37, as seen in the YouTube trailers released in May 2009 by DocitheKK, is that a group of people from an unnamed agency are sent into Half-Life to rescue Gordon Freeman, who has been trapped inside the Black Mesa complex. Many versions of a script have been written for the movie, and the only scene that has been set in stone is the introduction. The rest has taken many stages in evolution, but we hope to have the final script ready soon so we can begin filming. It's too early to give a release date, but if I had to guess I'd say probably December 2010 at the best. Mission 37 is planned to be a feature-length movie (At least 1 hour 30 min), which is why the script is taking rather long.

Mission 37 is always looking for Voice Actors and reliable Game Actors. If you are interested, as always, send an E-Mail to Mission37@live.com! Thanks for taking the time to read this, and we'll be sure to keep you updated as we make progress.
